Team Member Information
Dale Martin started playing football at Bolingbrook High School, where he was a four year varsity player and a three year starter. Dale was considered by football critics and analysts as one of the top running backs in the Midwest and the nation. He was an two-time All-State performer and MSL Sports High School All-American player. Rivals.com rated Dale Martin as the 19th best running back in the nation. During his senior year alone he rushed for over 1,557 yards and posted 21 touchdowns. With a record like his, it was no wonder that Dale Martin was such a hot recruit. After spending a season at the University of Louisville, where he was redshirted due to an injury, Dale Martin transferred to Akron where he joined the football team during the 2008 preseason camp. However because of NCAA transfer rules, Dale Martin had to sit out the 2008 season and will join the Akron Zips in 2009 with three years of eligibility left.
In spring training 2009, Dale Martin suffered a torn Achilles tendon. However, it healed enough for him to play that regular season and he participated in 8 games, made 8 receptions, and totaled 37 yards.
