Team Member Information
Jeremy Bruce is junior wide receiver from Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania. A transfer from West Virginia University, Jeremy became an Akron Zips team member in August of 2007 but had to sit out the 2007 season due to NCAA transfer rules.
The 2008 season marked the first of two seasons of NCAA eligibility that Jeremy Bruce had with the Akron Zips. Playing in all 12 regular season games and averaging 2.9 yards per rush, 11.9 yards per catch, 11.3 yards per kick return and 40.6 yards all purpose yards per game he definitely made his first year at the University of Akron count! Head Coach J. D. Brookhart is looking forward to seeing what Jeremy will do this season. Jeremy Bruce is hoping to be an even bigger presence on the Akron Zips roster and is eager to see lots of the field.
Much of Jeremy’s success in football can be attribute to the fact he is a talented athlete with great football instincts and scrappy style that often puts him right in the middle of things, As a sophomore at West Virginia University he played in nine games and had five receptions for a total of 72 yards, the year before that he earned a spot as a receiver as a true freshman, playing in 10 games and catching three passes for a total of 236 yards. Jeremy Bruce also played at Blackhawk High School where he was named first team All-State as a junior and a senior and was team captain his senior year. He ended his high school career with 3,600 rushing yards and 45 touchdowns.
